Cashew Nuts

So Natural cashews are the only nuts that are not locally sourced due to the fact that 60% of South African cashew nuts are processed and exported. Although, we are actively on the lookout for a local supplier to keep in line with one of our brand’s missions – providing South Africans with locally sourced products.

Cashew nuts are low in sugar and rich in fibre, heart-healthy unsaturated fats and plant protein. They’re also a good source of Zinc, Vitamin B6, Vitamin K, copper, magnesium and manganese. These nutrients are important for energy production, brain health, immunity and bone health. To avoid weight gain, nutritionists suggest limiting consumption of cashew nuts kernels to up to 5-10 a day.

Serving Suggestions:
Cashews are a fantastic addition to many different dishes. Whole or ground cashews can be incorporated into a variety of dishes, ranging from scrambled tofu and Asian stir fries, to soup, salads and stews. It is also used to make a variety of vegan cheeses and desserts.

Storage:
Cashews should be kept in an airtight container and are best stored refrigerated or frozen. Refrigerated cashew nuts can last up to six months and in the freezer, they can last up to one year.
